Why do we downplay our own accomplishments? I’ve caught myself doing it—brushing off my achievements, saying, “Oh, it’s nothing,” or “I only did this small thing.”
But there are no “only’s” in victories.
I was reminded of this when I hung up my awards and certifications—not to brag, but to remind myself of God’s blessings and how far I’ve come. These moments weren’t just small achievements; they were proof of perseverance, growth, and faith.
I still remember winning a blue ribbon in an all-boy industrial arts contest for making a lamp from scratch. At the time, I didn’t think much of it. But looking back, I see how that moment shaped me. It reminded me that I belonged, even in places where I felt out of place.
Fast forward to now—I completed the bike portion of a Half Ironman relay. 56 miles on a
bike! But I almost dismissed it. “Oh, I only did the bike part,” I said.

A friend quickly corrected me: “No, you accomplished something huge.”
We don’t give ourselves enough credit. We forget to celebrate the victories along the way.
So let me ask you: What have you accomplished lately that deserves celebration?
Maybe it’s finally making time for a workout. Maybe it’s a kind word from your teenager (that one’s a big deal!). Maybe it’s simply waking up today and choosing to keep going.
Every step forward is worth celebrating.
"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
— Psalm 118:24

'Only' is a lie—every step matters.
Take a moment to acknowledge your wins—big or small. Celebrate what God has done in you, through you, and for you. Because every victory, no matter the size, is worth rejoicing over.
